Easy Crock Pot Chuck Roast

Ingredients

  1. 3-pound chuck roast
  2. Salt, to taste
  3. Pepper, to taste
  4. Garlic, to taste
  5. 1 onion
  6. 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  7. 12 ounces beer
  8. Worcestershire sauce, to taste
  9. Minced garlic, to taste
  10. 1 au jus packet

Directions

  1. Season the chuck roast with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  2. Sear the roast in a hot skillet until browned on all sides.
  3. Remove the roast and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the onion and sauté until translucent.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and beer.
  6. Add a little Worcestershire sauce and minced garlic.
  7. Bring the mixture to a bubble.
  8. Stir in the au jus packet and scrape the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits.
  9. Place the seared roast in a crock pot.
  10. Pour the skillet mixture over the roast.
  11. Cook on low heat for about 8 hours.

Tips

This recipe is great for leftovers, so you won’t have to cook the next day. Make sure to scrape all the flavorful bits from the skillet when adding the au jus packet.
